Imium – 1 Year On

Looking back

It has been a year since we rebranded from Office Image to Imium, in this blog we are taking a look back at the last 12 months and what has changed since “We Evolved”.

It has been a year since we rebranded from Office Image to Imium, in this blog we are taking a look back at 5 highlights since “We Evolved”.

It is hard to believe it has been a year since our rebrand went live to coincide with the Cardiff Blues 2018/19 kit launch, a lot has happened in the last year and we are going to take you through a few of our highlights.

July 2018 – We Go Live!

Although we had been working alongside local marketing agency DesignDough for well over a year prior to the launch, that doesn’t mean we didn’t have a few hiccups prior to going live. With our deadline set, the imminent launch of the new Cardiff Blues kits for the season meant that our date had to be moved forward by a few weeks to prevent our new name and logo from effectively being leaked before we had a chance to promote it. This put the pressure on to develop the new website, marketing materials and launch the rebranding campaign in time. A lot of hard work and a few late nights ensured that at 9 am on July 10th, Office Image was no more and Imium stood in its place. We had evolved.

August 2019 – Expanding our horizons

One of the main motivations behind the rebrand was to escape the pigeonhole of “only doing offices”. There’s a lot more to us than our previous name suggested and following the rebrand, our projects for Cardiff University showed these capabilities. We refurbished 4 cafes and restaurants on different campuses throughout the city and gave them a new lease on life. From the old run-down IV Lounge – students union bar at The University Hospital of Wales to the tired-looking cafe within the Julian Hodge Building, our design team worked with the University to create fresh and exciting spaces that really increased the footfall within those buildings.

Our work with Swansea University also saw us move our expertise into a new environment,  we took what we know about agile working and workplace design and used them in the education industry. The project can only be described as a success, with the building seeing a dramatic increase of footfall since the refurbishment and is now one of the most used study spaces on the whole campus!

November 2019 – Celebrating the past while embracing the future

November saw our rebrand launch party take place at the Cardiff Arms Park, clients old and new were invited to an evening of food and drinks with a Q&A session with Cardiff Blues Head Coach John Mulvihill as well as first-team players Owen Lane and Rhys Gill. It was a great opportunity to solidify our new brand and share our plans for the future, as well as getting some sound advice on team management and attitude from our more-than-qualified guests.

January 2019 – Taking our designs to the next level

January saw an exciting change within the company as our design team took a week out of the office to receive training on Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, Revit. The implementation of Revit, along with associated 3D visualisations tools, has changed the whole design process for both us and our clients. The new software helps us to communicate design proposals to our clients more clearly and effectively than ever as we have the ability to offer test fit layouts that are accompanied by 3D imagery, videos and live walkthroughs that allow end-users to test drive their new space before they move in.

May 2019 – Fighting for a Wales without Cancer

With Spring in full swing and the fine Welsh weather holding up, we held our charity golf day at Cardiff Golf Club, where we raised close to £2,000 on behalf of our charity of the year Cancer Research Wales. We were joined by clients from all over Wales as well as an All-Star team from Cancer Research Wales made up of Danny Gabbidon, Simon Church, Scott Young and James Rowberry. Despite Team Imium coming in with the winning score, it was decided (much to Paul’s dismay!) that one of our guests should take home the prize. The winning team from Dragon Signs took home the prize despite some creative scoring from one of the other teams who tried to make up for only having 3 players on the day.

Thanks once again to all our sponsors and players for making the day such a success, we look forward to having you back next year.

What’s Next?

2019 has already proven to be an exciting year for Imium, we’ve invested in new technology to improve the service that we offer to our clients and expand our knowledge base with the acquisitions of new team members in key areas across a number of departments. But it’s far from over yet. November will mark 20 years of trading for us and we plan to mark the occasion by holding a series of events throughout the year to celebrate. Keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks.
