Imium has been working in partnership with some of the UK’s leading schools, nurseries and universties for two decades, to Design, Develop and Deliver fit-out and projects that empower its students and staff and help support students as they study.

Imium is unique. We take pride in being forward thinkers; aligning style with service and appropriate thoughtful design with efficient communication. Through experience, we pride ourselves on not only offering quality relevant design and project management but delivering quality materials and end results.

Not many design and build companies leave the building until last. We do. We put people first. We are experts in understanding how space can be used to bring out the very best in people. Our integrated design, develop and deliver process ensures this understanding filters through every stage.

We challenge and redefine the thought surrounding what a space can be and how it should be used.

Being a student in a new city can be daunting and overwhelming at times. The Student Services staff are a key lifeline to many students who need support and guidance in this tricky transitional time. Currently, students have to access the staff via the clinical reception; this feels very corporate and formal. For some students, this is enough to put them off visiting for the help they need.

The Student Services area should reflect the staff that work there and act as an oasis of calm and comfort for the students. The students who require guidance and support are often feeling vulnerable and sensitive, therefore we aimed to create a space that draws these students in and creates a feeling of a home away from home. The furniture and decoration play a large part in how the visitor feels in the space, we looked to design a welcoming homely environment where the students felt at ease and comfortable to ask for advice.

Imium were asked to design, develop and deliver both CAT A and CAT B works of and existing office building in Llanishen Cardiff, to transform it into a day nursery that provides care for children up to 4 years old, as well as wrap-around care for children up to the age of 11. Daisy Day Nursery relocated from their existing premises to Lambourne Crescent, with a vision of creating a new facility that catered to their exact needs and requirements. It would be a comfortable, safe and inspiring environment for both staff and children and allow them to maintain and improve on the high standards of care that they already provided.
